As I continue my mattress accumulation through the winter, I got to thinking. Why is it that one of the main "canons" of mattress quilting design uses flowers? In December, I photographed 17 mattresses. Sixteen of these mattresses incorporated a flower design of some sort. Are we trying to sleep literally on a bed of roses?

Process: I will photograph discarded dreams in the guise of used mattresses found in the trash during my daily travels about the city.
