The mattress season has hit full force this month I found twenty mattresses spanning from the Lower East Side to Morningside Heights and ranging from West End Avenue to Avenue B. Not the whole length and width of Manhattan, but a pretty sizable chunk. I found mattresses in the burning sun and nighttime rain. Some were hiding under trash bags, others were perched high above my head in dumpsters. The mattresses were ripe and free for the picking.
