A dozen mattresses for the month with only 28 and 1/4 days. Actually there were 20 mattresses total, but many of them were sets with identical fabric patterns.

It got me thinking, with so many mattresses getting thrown out, there must be just as many new ones getting purchased - it's not the kind of thing you just get rid of: "I'm kicking mattresses once and for all!" Then I realized, as I considered the seemingly bullish mattress market, that all these specific ad campaigns were ringing inside my head complete with phone numbers to call.

How many mattress TV commercials can you conjure up? It's interesting, and annoying, how catchy some of those jingles are...

Process: I will photograph discarded dreams in the guise of used mattresses found in the trash during my daily travels about the city.
