Monthly Statement:
November 2005
I am focusing on the initial exhibition, and setting a goal to edit all the notes into a piece that might represent the project well. Could the point of the piece, and the others I am working on be stated in one sentence? There definitely is a certain point that I want to be as apparent as possible, and it has been useful to consider the different aspects of how I am making decisions that affect how well the work makes the point.

Although I had requested permission to change my project in important ways, the desire to do this passed as the number of items started to make it clear that it was working very well as is, as a single color and with the items arranged in a color/tone grid.

Other questions come up as we approach the initial exhibition. Would it be possible to set the work up in a way that would make it easier to move and install? Is there more that can be done to emphasize the importance of each item?

Collecting is really not an issue- it is a continually pleasurable and surprising process. The soup is already very rich, so there is no need to work hard at obtaining ingredients, so Im quite relaxed about it.

Process: I will collect yellow things which will be mostly litter and other refuse of our urban environment, on walks. I will collect them as I go about the normal business of my life.

Accumulate: Yellow things

Accumulator: Paul Baumann
