Monthly
Statement:
April 2006
If I don't want yellow, if
I give back most all yellow, I'm
called yellow. I give yellow
and look yellow. I can't
take yellow. I can take more
red, more blue. I can take more
of those colors in.
Its not that I wear yellow.
The mirror turns a face, is
cut out among the
absorbing surfaces.
What you send away describes you;
qualifies you. What you absorb
alters your mass.
But yellow is never here-
it can only be there.
A mirror sends away most
everything.
A mirror is a visual loss,
a plane of mimicry. In order
to be a visual event, you
have to have qualities
of absorbtion.
Of course, there is no
perfect mirror.
And no perfect eye.
Process:
I will collect yellow things which will be mostly litter and
other refuse of our urban environment, on walks. I will collect
them as I go about the normal business of my life.
